Relaxation & Meditation

I invite you to experience gentle stress relief and inner peace through guided relaxation integrating iRest ® practice

Relaxation and Meditation using the iRest® protocol is a form of self-inquiry and is based on the teachings from Yoga Nidra. It offers an opportunity of deep relaxation throughout the body and mind, encourages calmness from stress, trauma and anxiety, and assists with insomnia.  As we enter meditation, we begin to develop and deepen qualities such as love and compassion, which in turn develops inner wisdom.

Meditation is a tool to guide the mind away from the constant chatter and beliefs we hold, and to turn awareness inwards, inviting us to discover our true nature.

I find when people try meditation for the first time, they become disheartened and frustrated because they can’t seem to stop the constant thoughts. Meditation seems to heighten their mental chatter.

Actually, it’s by noticing the conversations in our head that we can learn to let them go. By using methods such as body sensing and breath awareness, we can gently and gradually let go.

Many studies have been conducted to look at how meditation may be helpful for a variety of conditions. iRest® is currently being utilised in Veterans Affairs centres in America, and is well researched in the resolution of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). It is beneficial for psychological conditions such as depression, anxiety and insomnia.

In a relaxed state, meditation invites you on a journey inwards, to the wisdom of your soul, the real you.

If every child in the world were taught meditation, we would eliminate violence from the world within one generation -The 14th Dalai Lama
